An antique oak chest of drawers featuring serpentine drawer fronts, original brass hardware, carved foliate feet, paneled sides, and original metal casters. Pieces of this period were built as permanent household furniture, with solid construction, generous storage, and practical details intended to serve daily life for decades.

The oak displays pronounced cathedral grain across the drawer fronts, top, and sides, creating remarkable movement and variation throughout the surface. Molded edges, paneled construction, and carved lower details introduce ornament while maintaining the straightforward utility that defined much of the furniture produced during the period.

Two smaller upper drawers sit above a pair of full-width lower drawers, providing substantial storage for clothing, linens, and household essentials.
